Jaroslaw Kaczynski
Jaroslaw Kaczynski (60) is leader of Law and Justice, a national-conservative party he founded with his late twin brother, Lech Kaczynski. He was prime minister of Poland from July 2006 to November 2007.
Jaroslaw was made a doctor of law, which he studied at Warsaw university, in 1976. A Solidarity activist he was editor of the Tygodnik Solidarnosc magazine 1989-91, and was chief of the President’s Office under Lech Walesa (1990-91).
He later founded the Centre Agreement (Porozumienie Centrum) party after breaking his alliance with Lech Walesa. In 2001 he formed the Law and Justice party.
He lives in north Warsaw and is single.
