Great Britain, which will host the April summit of the G-20 group, would like to see Poland as one of its participants. According to initial reports in the Polish media, English diplomats claim that this country proved to be much better prepared to weather the crisis and hence may have a valuable input in the meeting. 
 
The G-20 is a group of finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 economies: 19 of the world's 25 largest national economies plus the European Union. In addition to these 20 members, World Bank and the International Monetary Fundare represented as well. During their meeting in London they are to prepare a plan of revival for world economy and create the fundamentals of the new economic order of the world.

Poland's foreign ministry would not comment on the possibility of Poland participating in the meeting but Mikolaj Dowgielewicz, the Secretary of the Committee for European Integration confirmed talks are underway.

Collectively, the G-20 economies comprise 90% of global gross national product,  80% of world trade and two-thirds of the world population. Small wonder then that the idea of Poland joining the wealthy club was welcomed by politicians and businessmen alike.
