A prestigious Warsaw Hotel - Le Meridien Bristol is the only Polish hotel classified on a 100 top world hotels list published by the American monthly "Travel&Leisure".
The ranking was based on the data from opinion polls conducted among its readers. They were asked to evaluate, among other things, services provided by the hotels, their catering offer, décor and location. The Warsaw-based Le Merdien Bristol obtained 89 out of 100 possible points and ranked 57th among one hundred best hotels in the world. It was also classified 11th among the 50 best European hotels outstriping Ritz Hotel in Paris.
The hotel was built in the Art Nouveau style and dates back to 1899 when it was opened by the world-class composer Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Paderewski's bureau and armchair still stand in the same place within his favourite apartment.
Over the years Pablo Picasso, Jackie Onassis, Queen Elisabeth II, Roman Polanski and Bob Dylan have all been guests there to name just a few. The hotel at the moment has 205 rooms at the guests' disposal. The building is listed as the Polish national monument and so is the Paderewski suite.
