The office of the government’s plenipotentiary for equal status of men and women has issued a handbook called “Say no to sexual harassment at work”. It includes information on the forms of sexual harassment as well as how to prevent it. According to the latest opinion poll by CBOS polling center, every tenth young Polish woman has experienced sexual harassment at work.

According to Poland’s labor code, sexual harassment is a form of discrimination based on sex. Its victims should report to the National Labor Inspectorate or to the police but they hardly ever do fearing further persecution or simply feeling ashamed. Last year only 20 Polish women reported their cases to authorities. Minister Elżbieta Radziszewska says their cases are often difficult to prove hence all the evidence should be gathered, including text messages, mails and even recorded conversations.
