Poland should accept and learn to cherish the country's unique recent historical experience, says Georgetown University professor of sociology Jose Casanova, one of the scholars visiting Poland on the 20th anniversary of the collapse of communism.

This sociologist of religion looks especially at processes of secularization ongoing in Europe. The example of Poland shows that religion goes hand in hand with freedom and modernization. This notion is not that obvious for western Europeans, explains professor Casanova in this exclusive interview for Polish Radio External Service.
