Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad

Polish State Gas and Oil Prospecting (PGNiG) has signed a contract with Qatargas for the delivery of LNG

Report by Slawek Szefs

The signing ceremony has been held in Qatar in the presence of Poland's Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad, which is best proof of the importance the Polish side attaches to the prospective liquid natural gas deliveries from its Arab partner.

The 20 year contract envisages annual deliveries of 1.5 billion cubic meters from the year 2014, plus 1 billion in spot deliveries or under medium term agreements. The date and volume is strictly related to the construction of a sea gas terminal in the Baltic port of Swinoujscie, to be completed by that time. It will cost 600 million euro.
