Over half of Poles will not be leaving for summer holidays

Agnieszka Bielawska reports

Summer is in full swing, people plan their vacation routes, travel agencies complain of a smaller interest than last year due to the financial crisis and statistics show that over 50% of Poles will not go anywhere for holidays. The numbers are in fact alarming but do they have anything to do with the crisis and the value of the Polish currency? According to representatives of travel agencies the financial aspect is to blame for the drop in booking holiday trips abroad.

Recent polls concerning summer plans of Poles show that 71% of the respondents will take leave from work, but 58% are not planning any holiday trips. Such alarming figures may entail that travel agencies do have reasons to complain , the figures in fact have very little to do with the crisis and change of holiday attitudes of Poles.
