If the Parliament sustains the veto a new bill has to appear.
The bill - which had passed in both the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliemanet proposed the abolishing of the licence fee from the beginning of 2010, replacing it with grants from direct taxation, at levels decided annually by parliament.
On Friday Chief of the Presidential Chancellery, Piotr Kownacki presented the President's stand ,saying the current bill will only give public media serious problems..
The future of the law is again in the hands of the lower house of Parliament, where the government will have trouble gaining the two-thirds majority needed to overturn President Kaczynski‘s veto. If so a new law will have to be in the making , which will not be an easy task.
