Poland’s only travelling carillon went on tour, celebrating two famous astronomers within the International Astronomy Year observations in Torun and Gdansk.

The instrument has 48 bells and weighs almost five tonnes. The heaviest bell weighs 845 kg and the lightest 9.

Built last year, the carillon went on a small tour that launched at the Astronomical Observatory in Piwnice, near Torun, to mark the World Year of Astronomy, commemorate Hevelius and Copernicus - and the Moon landing.
