Warsaw Rising 1944

Over the weekend Poland marked the 65th anniversary of the Warsaw Rising - the great heroic fight of Warsaw and her people and the most important event in the history of the Polish capital.

As has been customary, the people of Warsaw paid homage to the courageous strife of the city's inhabitants to shed away the Nazi occupant. There were official visits to the Monument of the Warsaw Rising at the Powązki Military cemetary, commemorative concerts, film screenings and even a bike ride along the historical route of insurgents' fights.
