Sex education in Polish schools is insufficient and unreliable, finds a report conducted by the Sex Educator’s Group Ponton.
Monika Greszta reports
The report, based on over 600 e-mails from pupils, proves that in most Polish schools sex education classes are not held at all or are given in a highly unprofessional way. Sex education teachers usually lack knowledge on sex and tend to pass on stereotypes and prejudices. As a result, pupils do not get basic knowledge about contraception or sexually transmitted diseases and are more exposed to dangers resulting from unsafe sex.
