Polish fans of Madonna as well as her opponents are counting hours before tomorrow's concert of the American pop star at Bemowo airfield in northern Warsaw.

Saturday's Warsaw appearance is part of Madonna’s extended ‘Sticky and Sweet’ concert tour. This is Madonna's eight world tour in her career. It was launched in 2008 after the release of her album "Hard Candy". According to the tour's organiser - Live Nation - over two million fans in 58 countries have so far enjoyed the show which is full of dancing, digital technolnogy and visual effects. According to estimates of Warsaw authorities, about one hundred thousand people will attend it, including several thousand visitors from abroad.
The date of her Warsaw concert has aroused controversy in religious circles as August 15th is an important Roman-Catholic feast devoted to the Virgin Mary. Former president and Nobel Prize laureate Lech Walesa expressed his displeasure with the upcoming show, its date has also been condemned by Poland's ombudsman Janusz Kochanowski.
Meanwhile the inhabitants of the locality of Rumin in mid-western Poland would like to grant the star with the honorary citizenship of theri town. They have already names one of the streets there Madonna Street. If the star decides to accept the offer a plot of land with a plague "Take It" will be waiting there for her.
