The ship, to be named Ojciec Paleczny.
Homeless men at the St. Lazarus Pension in a Warsaw suburb are building a steel ship with their own bare hands to sail around the world.
Magdalena Jensen reports.
The project, started by a former sailor, Father Boguslas Paleczny, has taken off with admirable determination after the priest died of a heart attack in June. The men - a crew of about a dozen come-and-go homeless men - work tirelessly everyday to build this ship, some 300 kilometres from the Baltic Sea. Plans to launch it are two years off, but sailling lessons are beginning this fall.
