The 9th International Mime Festival opens at Warsaw’s Na Woli Theater this evening. It is one of the most important events of its kind in Europe.

The festival, running until 30 August, will showcase a range of productions staged by theater groups from across the world, including the French Monsieur et Madame, U.S. Alithea Mime Theater, and the Bodecker/Neander Company from Germany. Spectators will also have the chance to see Pawn Shop, a mime show by Mimo Theater, founded by the organizer of the festival Bartlomiej Ostapczuk. It is the first mime performance that has premiered in Warsaw in a decade.
