The new plan of the US missile defense plan is based to a a large degree on research of a physicist of the Stanford University, professor Dean Wilkening.
 
Professor Wilkening presented the Obama administration earlier this year with his research in which he argues that Poland and the Czech Republic are not the most effective places to host elements of missile defense system against the Iranian threat. Turkey of the Balkan countries would be better to place the system.
