Polish Baltic beaches will see a special Patrol as of next year aimed at helping wounded seals and harbour porpoises.

WWF Poland has launched an initiative named Blue Patrol the aim of which is to monitor the beaches in search for wounded or sick seals and harbour porpoises. A group of fourty volunteers will start their work on January. They are all recruited from inhabitants of the Baltic coast and are to patrol the wide beaches ,looking for the Baltic mammals and in case of emergency help the animals.

The volunteers  undergo special training to be able to deal with first aid, and they report all cases to the  Marine Station on the Hel Peninsula .
