Poland’s city of Krakow is not quite a stage for Bollywood classics, but a visit of delegates from the southern Małopolska region in Poland, of which Krakow is the capital, have come to an agreement in Mumbai that Bollywood film producers will be able to come to southern Poland to film.
Zdobysław Milewski , head of the International Cooperation Office of the Małopolska Region, says that “we could have the Taj Mahal in Myślenice, or the Red Fort in Nowy Sącz,”referring to two towns in Poland’s southern region. “Everything is possible,” Mr. Milewski adds.
One Bollywood production has already been filmed in the scenic Tatra mountains. The 2006 smash-hit “Fanaa - Destroyed in Love”, with Mumbai heart-throb Aamir Khan playing the lead, was filmed there instead of Kashmir due to troubles in the north-Indian state.
