President Kaczynski is to sign the Lisbon Treaty on Saturday, thereby completing the Polish chapter in its ratification.

The ceremony will gather a number of prominent guests, including European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek, head of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and Swedish PM Fredrik Reinfeldt representing the EU Presidency.

All this is very good news testifying to the rank of the event and ending long days of expectancy.

Experts agree this is going to boost President Kaczynski's image in the eyes of Polish public opinion. Could this be a grand, though unofficial opening of his re-election campaign?
