Danuta Isler reports

Launched in 2000 the Social Diagnosis describes the society's living conditions and quality of life, development directions as well as their threats and challenges. This time over twenty six thousand respondents in over twelve thousand Polish households were asked about basic facts, manners, attitudes and experiences on both economic and non-economic aspects of their lives. The results show that the indicators of prosperity, good mood and health are on the rise with the the level of stress among Poles decreasing. The respondents were quite satisfied with issues important from a citizen's point of view.

The research also shows that Polish families are doing better and better financially. Only 28% of respondents admitted that they cannot make ends meet in comparison with over 70% of the society sixteen years ago. Poles are more and more satisfied with their earnings with every third family having savings for a rainy day.
