Twenty five years ago to the day, communist secret policemen murdered Solidarity priest Father Jerzy Popieluszko.

On 19 October 1984, a gang of secret policemen from the Ministry of the Interior abducted and murdered Father Jerzy Popiełuszko, champion of the Solidarity movement and the symbol of the uncompromising faith of the Polish people. Aware that his life was in danger, he kept on preaching that violence must be overcome by peace and evil by love.
