Increased numbers of flu cases in Ukraine have caused understandable and widespread concern in neighboring Poland, especially after president Yushchenko's appeal to the international community for help in containing the epidemic.

 

The alarm over the growing flu statistics in Ukraine has been compounded by media reports on the additional danger associated with the alleged spread of the deadly A/H1N1 virus.
