A man who stayed out of politics for the last seven years has declared he will run for presidency next year.
Michal Kubicki reports
Andrzej Olechowski, 62, is former foreign and finance minister. He has also held senior posts in the banking sector. It will not be the first time he will run for the post of head of state. In 2000 he did quite well, coming second with over 17 percent of the vote. Shortly afterwards he became a co-founder of the Civic Platform party. Prime Minister Donald Tusk was his political partner at the time but their ways soon parted and Olechowski moved away from politics.
