Polish Radio and TVP Polish Television is hosting a visit of Vice President of the European Broadcasting Union who came to discuss the state of public media in Poland.

The Warsaw visit of Claudio Cappon comes on the eve of an international conference on public media organized in the Polish Parliament. A long and heated debate has been going on in Poland on the future shape and mode of financing of public broadcasters in this country and introducing relevant legal solutions into the new Media Law.

The EBU has manifested its concern with the situation of public media in Poland some months ago. In a letter addressed to the Polish President, PM and both Chambers of Parliament the organization appealed for their speedy support and guarantees of adequate funding to carry on their mission.
