January 27 marks the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German camp of Auschwitz.

The day’s programme in Poland includes ecumenical prayers and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto Rising, an International Holocaust Forum in Krakow, and several events in Auschwitz itself - a meeting of education ministers, a mass at the Divine Mercy Church and the main ceremony inside a heated tent set up for the purpose close to the so called Central Sauna building.
