Good growth prospects for Poland's economy in 2010 and next year, but figures must match realities.

Report by Slawek Szefs

Poland registered a 1.7 per cent economic growth last year which placed it as an EU leader in this category. According to forecasts the current year promises to be even better with Poland's GDP growth seen by up to 3 per cent.

Such is the opinion, among many others, contained in a report by Morgan Stanley. It also envisages the Polish economy to expand by 2.5 per cent in 2011.

All this puts Poland well ahead of many of its European partners, especially in the Central-Eastern region. But experts claim it would be far more advisable to compare the projected Polish figures against German, French or Italian economic realities rather than those of Hungary or Ukraine.
