Chopin Year has kicked off amid a promotional frenzy, with images of the composer appearing virtually across Warsaw, the city where Chopin spent 20 years of his life.
Alongside the more traditional commemorative ceremonies, concerts of acclaimed pianists and events such as the reopening of the museum of Chopin, the Promotion Office of the City of Warsaw has planned out a less conventional way of bringing the composer closer to Warsaw residents and visitors.
