The unveiling of the Patriot missile battery in northern Poland on Wednesday brought an immediate, and puzzled, response from Moscow.
“We do not see the need for such missiles,” said head of the Russian parliamentary committee on foreign affairs Konstantin Kosachov, who visited Warsaw, Thursday.
As Agnieszka Bielawska reports, Kosachov believes that the US Patriots, stationed just 60 kilometers from Russia’s Kaliningrad border, violates “the climate of confidence built up between Russia, the US and NATO”.
