Poland’s foreign minister, Radoslaw Sikorski hosted the 10th anniversary of the Community of Democracies in Krakow over the weekend to discuss the challenges that lie ahead for global democracy.

A major appearance was made by US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who came to Poland’s southern city as part of her whirlwind tour of Central Europe and the Caucuses.
Both Clinton and Sikorski signed an amendment to the deal on the anti-missile shield after the US Secretary of State paid homage to the victims of the Smolensk tragedy at the Katyn Cross at the foot of Wawel Hill on behalf of the Obama administration.
Clinton also announced financial backing for the site of the Nazi Concentration Camp of Auschwitz.
