As Polish Radio puts Radio Free Europe archives online, we talk to the broadcaster’s Polish language director (1982 – 87) Zdzislaw Najder.  

 

Polish Radio is the venue today of a conference that looks at the role of Radio Free Europe and other Polish-language radio stations which were the only source fo uncensored news for Poles during the communist period.

 

The conference coincides with the launch of Polish Radio’s internet service “Radio Freedom” which contains some 160,000 minutes of recordings and is to be further expanded.
