The world's leading watchdog organization, Human Rights Watch, has named Poland's involvement in the CIA prisons after 9/11 as the most urgent human rights problem.

HRW's 2011 World Report also cites discrimnation and lack of access to legal abortions as human rights violations. Poland has, however, been put under scrutiny because it is seen as an important leader among the new European Union member states and, thus, should lead by example, says Ben Ward of HRW.
