Twelve thousand tickets have been given away for this unprecedented event in the history of Polish music. The London Live Polish Music Festival co-organised by PKO BP - one of the largest banks in Poland - had been planned for over two years .For the first time such a huge group of Polish artists will perform during a one-day concert. The festival is directed primarily to the Polish community living in Great Britain, but also to the British audience wishing to know more about Polish culture.

George Matlock is the founder of London's Anglo-Polish Radio Orla: 'We are very excited because this is the first time that we've had so many performers playing together under one roof and in this case no ordinary roof. It's one of the most famous venues in the country. I wouldn 't describe it as a festival, it's actually more like a multi-concert where there will be a long list of artists, a little bit like Life Aid but perhaps on a much smaller scale. The London mayor Boris Johnson has endosred the concert as well. He's been saying that he wants to see sponsorship and commercial involvement in such events rather than public money being out down. So with, in this case, a very famous bank in Poland sponsoring this event that very much plays into his vision of London.'

Following the footsteps of Poles migrating to the isles, Polish artists have become frequent guests of clubs and small scenes in the UK. To perform on such a legendary scene, however, which hosted among others such stars as Rod Steward, Santana or the Beatles is for many Polish artists a wish come true. One of those artists is a well known pop star Natalia Kukulska who will be performing in London for the third time but the first time at the legendary Wembley Arena: 'I am very excited because of the place, it's a great honor to play over there and it's the first time that a lot of Polish artists are going outside of Polanf to have a festival. So there will be a lot of emotions there and I hope the place will be inspiring us and I hope it will be a lot of positive energy. As for my concert - it will be almost the same concert I am singing right now in Poland but I am preparing some surprises for Polish people and a few covers of the most important songs which inspired me in my work.'

Sunday's concert will take place on two stages. The main stage will feature the crème of Polish pop and rock artists, like singers Kayah, Natalia Kukulska or Doda and legendary bands like Lady Pank and Bajm while the smaller one will see the debut of aspiring young Polish artists. George Matlock of Radio Orla again: 'The event itself is obviously a very postive thing because a lot of Polish people in the UK are at the moment a little bit anxious about their future here. Although some have gone back to Poland we are certainly aware that there are still plenty people here who are working and they are a little anxious about their economic situation, the state of the British economy being as weak as it is currenly. And therefore this is a great cheer-me-up event. Don't forget that there are a lot of seats to be filled and all those tickets have not been allocated. We are hearing that it is no longer possible to get tickets for this event.'

The admittance to the concert is free. The event is to start at noon and wind up at 10 pm. Polish public TV will have a live transmission of the event.
