"Nothing like the family" campaign poster
"Nothing like the family" is a campaign promoting and supporting family-based orphanages. Money is raised for educational needs of kids in family-based orphanages. But even more importantly, the campaign aims to popularize the idea of such homes.

According to the data of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, only 8.5% of Poland's 26 thousand kids without parents live at family-based orphanages. The rest remain in state institutions, which are infamous for the conditions they offer. Majority of kids raised in such places have educational and developmental problems.

Children are much better off at family-based foster care centers, 1/3 of them graduate from university and 84% find employment, despite the great problems they may have at the beginning. 'Family-based foster care centers are a story with a happy end,' says Dariusz Karlowicz of St. Nicholas Foundation.
