Nelly Rokita, the colourful Law and Justice Party (PiS) member, has stated that she is very pleased with her party’s method of handling the financial crisis.
“Prime Minister Donald Tusk [Civic Platform] is incompetent but the situation in Poland, despite the economic crisis, is good,” stated Rokita, wife of former prominent member of Tusk’s party, Jan Rokita.
Rokita told Polish Radio that she is disappointed in the fact that the governing Civic Platform has not been able to coordinate their policies with her party, PiS.
According to Rokita, Tusk’s team has made many chaotic, unfeasible decisions, like the matter of Poland joining the euro zone. The MP added that, if it were not for head of PiS, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Poland would have fallen into chaos.
“The government manipulate information and release many unverified facts, like in the matter of the Institute of National Remembrance,” stated Rokita, referring to the current furor over accusations that Lech Walesa was a communist spy. She claims that the government’s high popularity in public opinion polls is due to a very fine-tuned public relations campaign and nothing of substance. (mmj)
