All parties have agreed upon a new article to be added to Poland's Constitution banning convicted criminals from becoming a member of parliament.
"MPs and senators should be flawless," explains member of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, Przemysław Gosiewski.
The chairman of the committee that has worked on the draft amendment, proposed by the leftist Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), Stanisław Chmielewski from the ruling Civic Platform (PO) emphasized that the proposed law was a result of compromise. "It should mean that people who have problems with obeying the law, should not have an influence on creating it."
“Former SB agents (Security Service) will not be able to run for a post of MP," added MP Gosiewski, helpfully. (gg/pg)
