Convicts in Poland who served sentences in cells that did not meet prison service regulations are demanding financial compensation.
Prisoners complain about the size of their cells, number of people and poor equipment. Almost all complainants are asking for over 100,000 zloty (22,000 euros) each. Some are even going as far as to demand millions of zlotys, said Krzysztof Józefowicz, head of a district court in Poznań, western Poland.
Reportedly, similar demands have been filed in courts across the country. (jn/pg)
