With just two weeks to go before polling day for the European Parliamentary elections in Poland, the major parties are out trying to drum up support.The ruling Civic Platform (PO) - part of the European People’s Party (EPP), currently the largest group within the European Parliament - is holding a regional convention in Kielce, south-central Poland.
The rally is being led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The top listed Civic Platform candidate in the region is Roza Thun, the current head of European Commission Office in Poland.
Chorzow in the southern Silesia province is host to two rallies this Sunday. The Law and Justice (PiS) party - part of the Union for a Europe of Nations group - is holding its convention with party chairman Jaroslaw Kaczynski as guest of honor. And the junior government coalition member, the Polish Peasant Party (PSL), - also a member of the EEP, is holding its rally with the participation of deputy premier Waldemar Pawlak. (
