Poznan, stereotyped for the thriftiness of its residents, offers a special promotion this weekend.
Fifty four hotels, restaurants and cultural venues, including the zoo, have cut prices by half just for the weekend. The local tourist organization hopes the action will remind tourists that Poznan is an attractive destination.
“Especially in Poznan, we are well aware of the fact that spending less money is very attractive and can cause a lot of interest in the product or service,” said Jan Mazurczak of the Poznan tourist board.
On Saturday and Sunday, tour guides will work for free. Some tourists attractions, which are normally closed, will be open. On Saturday at 10 am an urban game "seekers of truth" will start at the market square in Poznan. (jn/mmj)
