The office of Poland’s Ombudsman is launching a web service on legal aid called Codziennik Prawny (The Legal Daily).
The initiative is aimed at improving Poles’ knowledge of law. The site will contain legal information from various fields to be easily accessible to users.
According to Poland’s Ombudsman, Janusz Kochanowski, Poles file several tens of thousands of complaints with the office annually with many of them referring to simple everyday situations.
There are not many websites presenting the current legal regulations, he argues, and it is even more difficult to find answers to legal questions that would be available free of charge, hence, the idea to create such a service. The Legal Daily is to include answers to hundreds of questions that Poles may face during their lives at work, in offices or even at home.
A special accompanying program of legal training for students, social studies teachers and representatives of NGOs is to be launched in the fall. (di/mmj)
