Today marks the beginning of holidays in Poland as schools let out and exam sessions wrap up – and the beginning of road construction season.

Travelers in Poland this summer can expect to encounter several hundreds of road construction sites. The largest such site is in northern Poland on state highway number 1 leading to the Baltic Sea. The highway will see at least four different traffic-stopping work sites.

In the west, state highway number two from Poznan to the German border is undergoing roadwork in ten different locations.

Drivers on A4 motorway between Katowice and Chrzanow, a stretch of toll road that has seen much construction over the past several summers, will not enjoy a break this year and many sections of the road will be one lane in both directions.
