The management of the Tatrzański National Park wants to minimize the damage done by tourists every year in the highest of Poland’s mountains.
They are considering putting up electronic boards displaying the number of tourists present at a given location.
“Indeed, if we had information that some parking lot, or some route is crowded, maybe some tourists would decide to walk elsewhere,” said Paweł Skawiński, the director of the park.
It is estimated that up to three million people visit the Tatrzanski National Park annually and during the peak season up 40,000 people daily are on the trails. (jn/pg)
