Police in Kalisz, central Poland, that have been on the hunt for a puma since Sunday evening, have set out a raw chicken as bait to tempt the wild animal into a trap.

A local resident saw the animal over the weekend and presented the police with photographic evidence that it is, in fact, on the loose in the town.

“A veterinarian suggested that a cage be put out to trap [the animal], which we borrowed from the Help Animals Society,” stated Agata Dybioch from the Kalisz City Guard. The cage is hidden in the bushes and a raw chicken has been placed on top of the cage to attract the puma.

City Guard in Kalisz have been patrolling the area and observing the trap for the whole night, yet nothing materialized. It has yet to be determined where the puma is from. (mmj)
