Police and prosecutors are investigating cases of human skulls pierced with bullet holes, discovered in storage at the Police Training School in Legionowo near Warsaw.

The cases contain human bones as well as dozens of skulls. The gruesome find was made when the school’s chief ordered an inventory of storage rooms after the death of a staff member.

 The cases have documentation in Polish and Russian. Probably they were brought in for forensic studies in 1991 and it is suspected that they hold the remains of police officers murdered by Soviet NKVD in Mednoye in 1944-45.
