• Poles not afraid of swine flu
  • 03.08.2009

According a survey published in RZECZPOSPOLITA daily, 72% are not afraid of contracting the A/H1N1 virus.

However, at the same time, only 37% of those asked think Poland is well prepared to fight any kind of epidemic.

Only 2% of respondents said they cancelled their holiday plans because of the fear of the disease. Half said that the media hype surrounding swine flu did not influence their travel plans at all. The rest never planned to leave the country anyway.

The survey was conducted by GfK Polonia polling center on the 31st of July on a sample of five hundred Poles. (jn/mmj)
