The Polish Tourist Organisation (POT) has signed a deal with the government providing for state financing of the project ‘Promoting Poland Together.’
The agreement gives POT an additional 30 million euro for the project, which is aimed at a media campaign promoting Poland abroad, says POT chairman Rafal Szymke.
“We already have several campaigns going on in Germany or Britain. We plan various media actions to promote Poland, for example the 2010 Frederic Chopin year, which will give us great opportunities to speak about Poland the world over,” stated Szymke.
The POT chairman underlines the fact that the promotion of Poland among foreign tourists is, currently, insufficient. National tourism thrives mainly on Polish tourists and not foreigners visiting this country.
The project ‘Promoting Poland Together’ will show Poland as an attractive destination both for leisure and business.
Last year, POT promoted Poland in a three week advertising campaign on CNN International. (adb/mmj)
