Striking nurses from the Specialized Hospital in Radom, central Poland, are today being joined by a delegation of nurses from neighbouring regions to take part in a picket at the hospital.

The nurses protest in Radom is now in its second week. Negotiations with the hospital management have so far been inconclusive.

The nurses are fighting for substantial pay raises while hospital authorities say that the clinic is in debt and cannot afford increases. (ek/mmj)
