Two people died last night as heavy storms passed over Poland.

One person was killed in Opole, southern Poland, when a tree fell onto a car in strong in winds. A 60-year-old woman and 67-year-old man were trapped inside. The women later died in hospital.

One other person died in Lower Silesia.

Roofs of buildings in Pomorskie in the north of country were damaged as storms swept the country from west to east. (pg)
