  • 01.10.2009

An animated feature film on the early years of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, Nicolaus’s Star, has had its official press screening in Toruń, central Poland, the birth place of Poland’s finest astronomer.

The film is the work of the Animated Film Studios in Bielsko-Biała and is the first full-length animated Polish feature in 20 years.

The film shows the astronomer as a child in Toruń, then during his student years in Kraków and Bologna. Its makers say that they have tried to keep as much as possible to historical fact, consulting the story with the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum in Toruń and the city Planetarium.

The general public will be able to see Nicolaus’s Star on cinema screens starting with October 9. (ek)
