Policemen in Gniezno, mid-western Poland, have staged a demonstration in front of the local headquarters in a protest against their ageist boss.
This is the second such protest within a year. The major complaint is that the Gniezno chief is unreasonably forcing older officers to leave the service.
Unofficially, the chief is also being held answerable for the suicide of an officer who did not want to retire from the force as he had two handicapped children to support.
Talks with the protesters were held by a deputy regional police chief from Poznań who also announced that their objections would be probed by a special team.
Last year, a protest against the Gniezno chief was held by local traffic police. (ek)
