The funeral of the 22-year-old soldier who died in Afghanistan last week, will take place in the village of Iwanowice, in the central-western Wielkopolskie province today.

The soldier, who was posthumously promoted to corporal, will be buried with full military honours. Officials attending the ceremony include Head of the National Security Office Aleksander Szczygło and land forces commander Lieutenant General Tadeusz Buk.

Radosław Szyszkiewicz was killed in a mine explosion planted by the Taliban in Afghanistan last Friday. It was his first military mission. (ab)
