The fifth Symposium of Humour is now on at the Silesian University in Katowice in the south of Poland.

Lectures, workshops and meetings with specialists are planned during the two day event. Elements of humour appear in all walks of life, says the organiser of the event Weronika Slezak-Tazbir.

The symposium will be discussing social aspects of humour, happiness and laughter in relations, humour in politics and in the media. Humour in arts and in science, as well as ethnic roots of humour.

During workshops the participanst will learn how to introduce humour into tense situations and how to relive uncomfortable discussions with a dash of humour. (ab)
